The biggest takeaway from testing Lugg for an IKEA delivery was that the delivery decision isn’t just about whether Lugg can pick up the furniture; it’s about whether the total logistics make sense for the purchase.

For our test, Lugg quoted $108 before we entered the items being transported: a MALM dresser and a BILLY bookcase. The route was approximately 6.3 miles, from IKEA Brooklyn to Broadway in Brooklyn.

One detail stood out when we looked more closely at the estimate: Lugg’s booking fee is variable. According to the app, the fee can depend on factors including the origin city, distance, and duration, and while it is included in the price shown before booking, the final booking fee can change based on the final fare.

That means the first price you see should be treated as an estimate rather than a guaranteed final total.

For someone comparing Lugg with IKEA delivery or another local moving option, this matters because the real question isn’t just, “What does Lugg quote me?” It’s “What will I actually pay once the job is complete?”
