## How does the Penske rental cost calculator work?

For local rentals, multiply the daily rate by rental days and add the per-mile rate times miles driven. For one-way rentals, use the editable rental estimate with no separate mileage charge. Both estimates add fuel, the selected protection cost, other fees, and optional tax. Tax applies to rental, mileage, protection, and fees, but not fuel.

## Is the prefilled one-way price a live Penske quote?

No. It is a published price example for a 100–250-mile move from moveBuddha's Penske comparison, checked October 28, 2026. Actual rates depend on your route, dates, truck, availability, and demand. You can replace the example with your own quote. Changing miles updates fuel cost only; it does not obtain a new rental quote.

## How is fuel cost estimated?

Divide trip miles by the truck's estimated miles per gallon, then multiply by the fuel price per gallon. Fuel is added separately to the rental estimate. Your load, route, speed, and driving conditions can change actual fuel use.

## Is this calculator affiliated with Penske?

No. Laborhutt provides this independent, free budgeting tool. It does not reserve a truck or guarantee a price. Confirm rates, availability, taxes, fees, and coverage with Penske before booking.
